Vicksburg Evening Post, Mrs. Grimes' Father Dies In Arkansas Zeph Brice Wheat, father of Mrs. Dorothy Wheat Grimes of Vicksburg, died Tuesday in the Witt City Hospital in Arkansas. He was 86. Mr.
Wheat had been a resident of Dermott, since 1925. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he had served as secretary of the Sunday School Department. He had also been treasurer of the Delta Baptist Association. Mr. Wheat had been a member of the Masonic order for more than 60 years.
Survivors, in addition to Mrs. Grimes, include. one son, Andrew Stuttgart, three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were held Thursday in Dermott at 2 p.m. under the direction of Downey Funeral Home with the Rev.
David McLemore officiating. Hazel Davis Dies, Rites Saturday Hazel Byars Davis, former resident of Vicksburg, died Wednesday morning in Winchendon, of an apparent heart attack. She was 59. Mrs. Davis was born in Holly Bluff, the daughter of the late Mr.
and Mrs. Roy Sharbrough. She had lived most of her life in Vicksburg and was employed by Merchants National Bank here, ending her career as business development secretary before moving to Massachusetts about eight years ago. While in Vicksburg, she had also worked in the credit department of Sears. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Rachette; and three grandchildren, all of Winchendon.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Winchendon under the direction of Snow-LaDeau Funeral Home. A requiem mass will be recited Monday. Geo. Henderson Rites Sunday Services for George Henderson, 1607 Military Avenue, will be Sunday at 1 p.m.
